Social media marketing in just 30 minutes
I know how it is. At the start of the work day you have every intention to finally catch-up on your social media marketing. Somehow, as the day goes on, you do manage to schedule new clients, prepare invoices and write a presentation, but ... where did the time for social media go?! Well let me ask you, do you have 30 minutes a day to spare? That's all it takes to have a good, strong social media presence.
Don't waste another minute and start following these tips on the infographic below:
- 10 minutes on Twitter to respond, schedule and share
- 6 minutes on Facebook to like and share
- 6 minutes on LinkedIn to promote, comment and question
- 4 minutes on Pinterest to pin and interact
- 2 minutes on GooglePlus to share and converse
- 2 minutes on Instagram to share visual content
Balancing social media with "real work"
Where is the line between being a smart business leader and getting too wrapped up in social media marketing? It can be hard to focus on the things that really matter for your business, while giving it that extra support with social media. Here are 7 non-overwhelming ways to walk the fine line between social media and "real work".
- Focus on doing social media marketing that works for YOU! There is no one-size-fits-all formula.
- Have a plan and a vision. Set goals for your social media and check when you reach those goals.
- Know your community and what they are looking for.
- Don't over think every post you make.
- Hear more than just the sound of your typing. What I mean is listen to what others are saying about your business or within your industry. You have to hear the conversation in order to respond and be a part of the conversation.
- Use tools like TweetDeck, Hootsuite and dlvr.it to manage and schedule posts.
- Social media shouldn't take the place of other marketing and networking efforts.
Probably one of the most important things to remember about social media is to relax and enjoy community to your audience.
How to NOT feel overwhelmed by social media
Managing your social media doesn't have to be an impossible task. There are several ways to manage your time efficiently. Entrepreneur recently published 12 experts' opinions about how to manage your social media marketing without feeling buried by the task. Here is what they had to say:
- Don't leave your social-media time management to chance.
- Use scheduling tools.
- ....You could also use Tweetdeck or Sproutsocial, or hire a social media marketing manager.
- You may need to come to terms with the fact that A) You can't and don't have to be everywhere and B) If you aren't naturally able to engage, converse and create content, someone else might need to handle your social efforts.
- Have a strategy.
- Pick one social outlet that best serves your brand
- Post the same "tweet" more than once.
- Post/blog/tweet/pin/update when the mood strikes you.
- Be human.
- Keep it simple.
- Don't force it.
- Curate other great content, and offer up your personality.
